Introduction to the course

1) Which part of the course are you looking forward to most?

I'm most looking forward to filming a music video or taking pictures for the magazine cover.
2) What knowledge and skills do you hope to learn in Media?

I hope to learn how to use photoshop and how to edit.

3) What grade are you realistically hoping to achieve in Media?

I am hoping to achieve a grade 7/8.
4) What was the last TV programme or film you watched?

The last TV programme I watched was 'Riverdale'.
5) Why do you think that TV programme or film appealed to an audience?

The cast and producers used a lot of social media when advertising and promoting the show so a lot of young people saw more about the show. The use of sites such as Instagram made it seem more suited for teenagers rather than older people. The clips they showed included a wide range of genres such as mystery, romance, suspense so it appealed to a lot more people.
6) What technology have you used to access the media in the last 24 hours? (Radio, TV, phone etc.)

I have used my phone to access the media.

7) What device do you use most to access the media?

I use my phone most of the time because I have it with me a lot and it's easy to use.

9) What do we learn about the characters from this brief clip?

I can tell that Sherlock is quite an unusual man because although he could tell so much about his peers, he was oblivious to things that were obvious to the audience. Watson seems more reserved and cautious. He has no idea who Sherlock is and acts wary of him whereas Sherlock takes everything in his stride and acts casually with Watson.

10) What aspects of this show do you think an audience might enjoy? List at least three things and explain why the audience would enjoy each aspect.

Sherlock Holmes character-He's a very odd person and it could provide comedy.
Sherlock's detective skills-His way of finding out so much about Watson intrigues the audience-how did he do it?
Watson and Holmes' friendship-It seems like the two characters are getting to know each other and their friendship could provide a lot of entertainment.
